A distribution center was facing challenges in managing hundreds of inbound trailers and several hundred outbound loads per week without an automated and visual system. The existing process for inbound trucks to check in and drop a trailer was not efficient, with no accurate visualization of what was in the yard and no effective system to track trailers. There was also no good way to prioritize the trucking arrivals/departures, all causing delays in distribution center operations. This led to violations, additional charges, wasted labor, poor planning, and delays.
